Premixed Insulin

Novo Nordisk introduced the first premixed insulin in 1964. Premixed insulin was developed to provide patients with the advantage of using a combination of insulins already mixed. Premixed insulin offers the benefit of mealtime coverage with the short-acting insulin (Toronto) and after meal coverage with the intermediate-acting insulin (NPH).

Over 25% of insulin users prefer premixed insulin, which offers a convenient alternative to vials and syringes.
